Design and development for Backhouse, an embedded production company whose team has worked on campaigns for Netflix, A24, Apple, and Google.
Backhouse operates a model that doesn't have an established category in entertainment production. They also came with a strong creative vision for the site's visual direction.
Our role was to translate their vision and an unfamiliar business model into a narrative-driven experience that feels inevitable.
approach
We designed a scroll-driven story structure that walks the visitor through the problem, the method, and the proof in sequence that builds conviction with each section. The technical execution matched the ambition, all built in Webflow with extensive custom animation work.
Backhouse's creative vision drew from analog and architectural references: textural, physical, deliberately un-digital. The challenge was translating that material quality to the screen, which meant working through dozens of design concepts before the visual language clicked.
